Living the Dream
Have you heard of the recent singing contest organised by Channel 5? It’s called "Live the Dream".
In terms of the music scene in Singapore, I’m quite half-hearted about where this will lead us. I have to thank our lord of being blessed with a good voice and the ability to express myself in terms of vocal performance.
In me, the dream to be a professional singer still lingers in my mind. It’s quite a tragedy if I were to go into the top 14 and not being able to perform for 1 whole year without the producer’s consent.
My husband has nearly completed my lounge fusion music and if I were to go for this contest, I might not be able to perform elsewhere or even promote this music.
Unfortunately, the audition for solo category was already over. It was held last Sunday. There’s still hope for those who have been nominated by their friends, relatives or colleagues. I wonder whether there’s anyone out there who believes in my ability and would want to nominate me for this contest.
Nevertheless, myspace blog was recently spotted by a UK radio station and was asked to send the promo CD kit for airplay. Hopefully, my husband’s firepod is back after being sent for repair for several days.
For myself. For my husband. For our dreams, let’s hope there will be a day when the local music scene accepts local talents and local music.
